Prospecting for a client is the most important stage of the sales process and is difficult.

And why is that?

Prospecting a client is not as exciting as closing a deal. It is time-consuming but when done right, it can also be an exciting experience and allows you to find more potential customers who are a perfect fit for your offer.

So where are your prospects? Are they in Facebook groups? On Instagram? Or on LinkedIn? Or maybe they are at networking events?

Make sure your social media posts are engaging and enticing for them to view or connect with you.

Imagine knowing exactly where to find these customers so you always know where to find them.

Here are 3 ways for you to meet your ideal prospects.

1. Analyze where you met your best client. The best clients generally are the most profitable ones. So start compiling a list of where those people are or where you’ve met them then you’re going to be on your way to finding more of them.

Analyzing where you got your best clients will give you an idea and help you to know where they are hanging out, and make sure that you are in that place in order to meet them. 

2. Think in terms of industry events or social organizations like what event or activities your ideal prospects are most like to attend or be actively seen on. Think of the different places that your potential clients may be and make sure to be there too.

3. Think about your ideal client’s digital presence. What social media channels, newsfeeds, and other digital platforms are they mostly browse, visit, listen or use?

So if you normally sell business to business or what we called B2B, make sure you are looking at your potential client’s digital platform. If your potential clients are on LinkedIn, it means you need to establish a strong presence on that platform to make sure that they’re able to connect with you. To understand what you have going on, what you have to offer.

And with all this information, you can map out an action plan and write out where your potential clients and prospects are hanging out so that you can potentially meet them and find them at the right place and at the right time.
